CONSTABLE HOOK WALKWAY

Constable Hook Walkway is a wild oasis amongst the shopping centers, shipping terminals, and oil tanks situated around this peninsula jutting into the New York Bay. A former landfill, Constable Hook was transformed into a wetland, golf course, and waterfront walkway. The path, which winds along the northern edge of Constable Hook, is bordered by a shallow inlet, with wetland plantings, on one side and the reclaimed landfill on the other side. The wetland and wild landfill plantings support a diverse array of species, including migrating birds.
